January 2013

It's officially a new year.  Yay!
We are ready for 2013.  Hope it's a good one.
The kids are growing up and it's really hard for me.  I want to take them, and lock them up, and keep them home, and make them stay little.  It just goes by too fast.

Kaia is LOVING kindergarten and I can't believe how fast she has grown up this year.  She is reading so well.  She picks things up so quickly.  She loves her teachers Mrs. Walker & Mrs. Gabriel.  Mrs. Walker comes to our house every Wednesday and gives Kaia piano lessons.  She's doing really well at that too.
Kaia comes home everyday and talks about her friends and everything she says is so grown up.  The phone rang the other night and this is how the conversation went:

Nicole: Hello
Gabby:Hello, May I please speak with Kaia?
Nicole: What the....who is this?
Gabby: This is Gabby.

So I handed the phone to Kaia...

Kaia: Hello?
Oh, Hi Gabby.
What?
Hold on...my sisters are just too loud.  Let me go in my room

So she walks in her room and shuts the door.

I kept walking to her door and listening and she was saying things like "Oh ya, my sister has one of those toys!"  haha.  They talked for like 7-8 minutes.  It was the craziest thing.
Then she got off the phone and came in and said "That was my best friend Gabby"

How did she get so big?

Little miss Sienna is growing up too.  She is such a helper.
She doesn't like to go to bed at night and she uses every excuse possible.  She needs a drink, she needs to go to the bathroom, she's scared, she's not tired.
The other night they had been in bed for a while and she started yelling "MOM! MOM! MOM!"  So I finally went in and said "WHAT SIENNA?"  and she said "We forgot to do my sight words!"
haha.  Nice try.  Go to bed, we can do them tomorrow.

And Eja...she's just funny.  I set alarms on my phone so Im not late picking up the girls from school.  The other day the alarm went off and Eja yelled "It's 13 o'clock.  Time to pick up Kaia!"

Then as we sit in the line to pick Kaia up, Eja sits in the back seat and loudly announces "Kaia Goulding, Inside!"  Thats what the lady always says into the microphone because they have an inside line and an outside line.

She also listens to her sisters conversations and then replays them to me as we drive down the road.  The other day she said "Mom, I really love Brendan!  He's so nice to me."  (She doesn't even know Brendan because that's a kid in Kaia's class)
Then she told me that Ryan called her a cry baby because she sneezed and her eyes watered.  (Once again, she doesn't know Ryan)
She want to be a big girl so bad.  She still reminds me everyday that she's going to school next year.

She has started threatening me with stuff that means a lot to her.  I put her on timeout the other day and she told me that if I didn't get her off of timeout then she was never going to play at Zach and Tasha's EVER again.

The little Tan man is quite the character.  I think he might be slightly spoiled.  Everytime we set him down he immediately starts whining.  It's definitely a learned trait because he used to just hang out by himself all day.  But he gets held a lot between me, his dad, his sisters, grandma, grandpa, naomi, zach, tasha, and kamari.  If someone sees him on the floor, they pick him up, whether he's whining or not.    He's also impatient for his food.  But other than that he is a little angel.

 What a Big Boy

We had a surprise 21st B-day party for Naomi when she came out to Georgia for the weekend.  We made her dress up as soon as she walked through the door.

 Play time is hard work
I saw this shirt at the store and it reminded me of Big Tanner.  I HAD to get it for little Tanner.  It says "I'm kind of a big deal"  After all, he is THE Tanner Goulding.

Nicole Hallberg let the girls come out and ride her horse.  They were in HEAVEN.  It was so cute.  Her horse is HUGE.  When we first got there I was nervous that the girls wouldn't want to ride.  IT was kind of intimidating.  Kaia and Eja were scared  but Sienna couldn't wait to get on.  Half way through Sienna's ride the other girls decided they wanted a turn too.
