Update on Naomi

From my mom.....

That was the longest 4 hours of our lives! All is well. She was pretty nervous and in tears about a half hour before they took her in so the anesthesiologist gave her little something and you've never heard Naomi chat so much!
The doctor reported that surgery went very well. He said Naomi's spine was very flexible compared to alot of stiff spines he has worked on. She lost very little blood. He said most of these surgery's lose between 700 and 800 CC's of blood, she barely lost 200. He also said that is the least amount of blood lost in all 40 surgery's he has done this summer! She has had no nausea and in her deep breathing excercises she has already passed the goal they set for her. She is still pretty sleepy, she tried to text but fell asleep half way through. That's so Naomi isn't it? She's turning over herself and the pain seems to be under control.
Denise will you send out a thanks to the whitewater ward who fasted and prayed for her and thanks to the rest of you who fasted and prayed on her behalf.
Thanks to all those prayers (and Juice plus of course) she is doing incredibly well. We are very blessed she is doing so well. This hospital is amazing and kind of sad too. There are so many little children who aren't doing so well.
Her address:
Primary CHildren's Medical Center
100 N. Mario Capecchi Drive
SLC, Utah 84113
Room # 2019
Phone # 801-662-2019
Love you all
Diane

Prayers for Naomi!

This morning my little sister is at Primary Childrens Hospital about to have back surgery. It's a little nerve racking just sitting here waiting to hear from my parents. Naomi has scoliosis that has gotten so bad it requires surgery. They have to make an incision all the way down her back, screw supports all the way down her spine, and attach them to two metal rods up each side of her spine to straighten it out. I'm afraid it's going to be a ROUGH one. She'll be in the hospital up there for 7 or 8 days then they are headed down to St. George until she gets well enough to fly home to Georgia. She won't be able to lift anything over 10 pounds, bend, or twist for 6 weeks. I wish she didn't have to go through this. We would appreciate any prayers.
WE LOVE YOU NAOMI!
YOU'RE THE CHAMPION OF THE WORLD!!!

Peace has been restored....

I'm glad to report that the last two days have been very CALM ones. Sienna must have just been figuring out Grandma's house the other day because we have had no incidents since then. Which is good because I'm sicker than a dog. This has been the worst pregnancy by far. I'm sick ALL DAY LONG! It's getting kind of old. But it's okay, because I know there is a baby waiting at the end of this long 9 months. So we'll take it! March 5th please come sooner.

Dusky is finishing his flight ratings. He just passed his written test this morning for his instrument rating. He's been a busy boy. He's doing a great job and we are proud of him.

Kaia has pneumonia. It's the wierdest thing. This is her second time getting pneumonia. The first time was when she was 14 months old and she got put in the hospital. Both times, she hasn't had very many symptoms. She was just acting really onery for a few days and coughing every once in a while. She kept telling me her belly hurt. So I decided to take her to the doctor out here in Georgia, thinking they would just tell me it was a virus and to let it run it's course. But it turns out, she has pneumonia. Poor girl! They gave her a teddy bear at the hospital when they did her chest xrays and now all she wants to do is go back to the doctor. She smashed her finger this morning and told me "it's bleeding, I need to go to the doctor!"

Sienna walks around my mom's house all day pointing to things and saying "I want that!" It's only funny to those of you who have heard her say it. She has the lowest voice, it's really cute.

Senny Girl

Sienna is her father's child.
We are in Georgia and this is how our day went..... (I'll make a long story short) I can't find my camera, but if I find it I'll take a picture of Sienna's battle wounds.

Sienna was pushing a little wire shopping cart. She tripped and fell. Her lip hit the wire bar really hard and then it squeezed shut and cut her lip open. It immediatly got HUGE and she was bleeding everywhere.

So then we decided to take her swimming. The girl has no fear. It's kind of scary. The other day she kept running to the side of the pool and jumping in. So one time I let her go all the way under thinking it would scare her. It didn't. She just laughed. So the next time I let her stay under for a little bit longer thinking it would scare her. It didn't. She just floated under water until I got her and then she laughed again.

So yesterday, we were swimming and she got out of the pool and started running for the slide. She's a fast little bugger. By the time Dusky got over to her she was already on the 4th step and slipping. I totally saw it coming, but I was clear on the other side of the pool. She grabbed on to the bar with one hand and that slowed her fall until she went upside down and her hand slipped. She hit her cheek on one step, scraped her chin on the next and then landed on her head on the cement. Dusky picked her up and she cried for a total of about 5 seconds. We could already see the goose egg on the side of her head, a bruise forming on her cheek and her chin was bleeding.

At that point we decided to go inside. Sienna was climbing up the stairs as fast as she could and on the top stair she missed the step and slammed her head into the door frame. So that was good egg #2 on her forehead.

Then last night, she climbed up on the coffee table, stood at the edge, and dove off with nobody there to catch her. She made it to the edge of the couch, but the cushions shot her backwards, she hit her head on the table, then fell to the floor. Dusky and I both looked at each other and busted up laughing.

Seriously, the girl doesn't learn. Maybe that's why she doesn't talk very much. She has too much brain damage. j/k She's so cute and she is really smart. It just terrifies me that she's not scared of anything. But I know where she got that from. Thanks Dusky!

Does anybody know how to read these things???
