Sorry, It's a long one

It feels like we've been partying like it's 1999! It started Sunday morning. We loaded up the 15 passenger van with about 10 students from the school (like we do every Sunday) and headed to church. After church we went to the Green's and had a little BBQ.
Monday was Memorial day. Dusky had to do a BBQ for the students, so Kaia, Sienna and I headed out to Kincaid Lake to meet the Baldwins and the Kippers. It was fun. AND HOT! Kaia went on her first Tube Ride. She's a natural. She loved it!
Then we came home and played in the Gym for a while. All of the missionaries came down and played basketball, volleyball and ping pong. Kaia ran back and forth across the gym for about an hour and a half. Plus we had been in the sun all day-so by bedtime she was pooped!
Yesterday I had my cake decorating class. So I had to make a cake which means I had to make lots of icing. Sometimes I know I shouldn't let my kids do things, but I do anyways just because it's convenient or it allows me to get things done. (NAUGHTY I know) Anyways, I let Kaia eat a lot of icing. Of course she loved it. She was shoving it in her mouth just as fast as she could and every once in a while she would stop to let me know how much she was thoroughly enjoying it. She would say "MMMMMM, Nummy!" Then the girls spent the night with their dad, which means PARTY for them.
Tomorrow we are having our weekly group play date at the Cameron's and then Dace and Laurie are coming. YEEHAW!
Here are some pictures from the Lake

Little Miss Kaia Lyn. There is this boy in the school that Kaia just loves. He always babysits her during church, activities, etc. She's attached to him. He said to me the other day "That little girl is going to be ruler of the world someday. Look at the way she walks. She owns the place!"
It's funny to see the boys from the school. They love Kaia and Sienna so much. They are these big bad boys that are really tough until Kaia comes around and they start playing with her and their whole countenance changes.
Here is our little fat girl

This is the never ending scab. She's had it for about a month. She keeps falling and ripping it off or else she just rips it off with her fingernail. GROSS!!!
Kaia stands outside all day and waits for cars to go by so she can wave at them. If she's inside and she hears a car coming she runs to the door or the window, waves and yells "Bye Bye!"

Kaia is such a big helper now. She has kind of gotten over the smother Sienna phase. Everytime Sienna is in her swing and she starts crying Kaia runs right over and starts talking to her and Sienna immediately stops crying. It's the cutest thing. When Sienna starts crying I just say "Kaia, Senny is crying" and she hurries over and takes care of her. It's actually kind of nice because she entertains her long enough for me to finish what I'm doing.
This is how the night starts out...........

And this is how it ends.....

My daughters will not stay in their own bed. Especially KAIA GIRL
And a few short videos for your entertainment...

Goulding Update

We went to the doctor today. Kaia had her 18 month check up and Sienna had her 2 months check up. Which means, they both got shots.
My Kaia girl weighs a whole 19 pounds. She's in the 5th percentile.
And here's the good part......
Sienna weighs 14 pounds. She's still gaining about a pound a week. So at this rate in 5 weeks she'll weigh as much as Kaia. AND, she's off of the charts. She's over the 100th percentile for her weight. She's in the 90th percentile in her height and 75th percentile in her head size.
What can I say, she's large and in charge. And so stinkin' cute!
Kaia wants to hold her all day long.

My girls are soooo cute! I made these picture frames and hung them in our hall.

We bought this fabulous pool for Kaia. It's been so hot lately so we went out the other day and blew up the pool. I was going to fill it up and let it sit for a few hours so the water would warm up a little bit. I told Kaia "after we feed Sienna we can get your swimming suit on and go swimming". I looked away for about 10 seconds and when I turned back around this is what I found. She was lounging-clothes on, shoes on, nasty diaper still on. I guess she didn't want to wait!

MEOW!!!

I though I would give you a little sample of what we experienced today. During sacrament meeting Kaia decided she wanted to be a kitty cat. She said "Meeeeeooooow, meeeeeooooow, meeeeeooooow!" over and over and over. Everytime I would tell her to "Shhhh" she would get louder. Everybody kept looking back at us because you honestly couldn't even hear what the speaker was saying she was so loud. It was pretty dang funny! Everyone was laughing. (Well, not everyone, just most people)

By the way, I am in need of advice. My stinkin' cute little daughter won't go to nursery. It's so wierd. I thought she would love it but she cries if Dusky or I leave and so the nursery people just bring her out to us. So she continues to cry, because she knows they'll come and get mom and dad. I was so excited to be able to go to class and listen and not have to chase her around, but we've tried this for 3 weeks in a row and it's not working out very well.

On to another subject.....Kaia loves to hold Senny. That's what she calls her. Everytime Sienna cries Kaia runs up, starts rubbing her head and says "Why Senny? Why?" Well, she has actually started saying "Senna" the last little while, but it's really cute

Kaia's project for the day...

Kaia was determined to get the paint and when she puts her mind to something she doesn't stop. It started this morning when I came into the office and she had moved the chair over and climbed up onto the desk. She had brown paint all over her hands, legs and WHITE shirt.
So I cleaned her up and put bleach on her white shirt to try to get it off and put new clothes on her as we so often do.
I thought that I had shut the door but I guess it didn't click. I was feeding Sienna and I realized that it was really quiet (which usually means something bad is happening) so I walked down the hall just in time to find this. Pink paint all over her hands, legs, and brand new shorts.
Oh yeah, and all over my chair.
PLUS, I had to change Sienna into 4 different outfits today because that is how many times she pooped so hard that it exploded out of her diaper.
Needless to say, we do a lot of laundry at our house!!!

BIG and little girls.....

Check out my little Chickies!!! Sienna is now 8 weeks old (Today). I think she probably weighs about 11-12 pounds. Kaia is almost 19 months old and she weighs 19 pounds. She's going through this little phase in life where she wants to sit on her sisters head, poke her in the eye, slap her on the head, steal her binkie- and then give her a great BIG kiss!
I told Kaia the other day that she better be careful because in a few weeks her little sister is going to be bigger than her. Sienna is a strong little girl. She rolled over from her stomach to her back when she was 6 weeks old. I'm sure it was just a one time thing, but it was CRAZY! I layed her on her stomach and she pushed herself over onto her back with her legs. It took her a minute of trying, but she finally got it. I was amazed.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was wonderful. I have the cutest little girls ever. They wore their matching white and yellow flower dresses. The little girls sitting in front of us kept turning around and saying "Are they twins?" When we got done with church I got to have a nice long nap. Dusky usually lets me have a good nap on Sundays while he takes the kids, but this glorious day both of my children decided to fall asleep at the same time. So Dusky and I got to have a nap together. That was fun! We haven't done that for a long time.
We pretty much did a whole lot of nothing that day, but it was fun and relaxing. Dusky changed every single diaper, fed Kaia, got both of them ready for bed, etc.

TTA- Summer Memories

My summer memories......

My greatest summer memories have all happened at good ol' Lake Powell. It's the greatest place on earth. I love being in the sun with my swimming suit on and nowhere to go, I love being with my family and friends, but most of all, I love TUBING!!!! And I love my tubing partner Lana. We are the greatest. I love grabbing her face and clinging tightly as we fly through the air at a rapid rate. And although my mom tries to kill us, I know it's only out of love!

I love making sand castle villages. I love watching my husband do backflips off the top of the houseboat onto the beach. I don't love watching him jump off 120 foot cliffs, but he does it anyway. I love putting on waverunner shows. I love that everyone sits on the back of the boat and claps for Lana and I. My family is so supportive of me and my many talents. I love making ziplines from the top of the boat to the beach. And I love that Kaia had such a fun time last year. She loved swimming! But mostly, she loved eating the sand.

This year we get to take 2 little girls to the lake and hopefully they will have the same fun memories as I did as a child.

Tuesday Tell All......

Thanks to Tara I found this site for a Tuesday Tell All. Every Tuesday there is a new topic to write about and I'm going to start doing it since I am horrible and writing in a journal. I know it's already Thursday but better late than never.

Topic This week....Motherhood!

"Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walkingaround outside your body."
~Elizabeth Stone
MY FIRST EXPERIENCE AS A MOM....
How do you explain the way you feel the first time they put your brand new baby in your arms. I don't think you can. But I had Kaia at 1:17 in the morning and after 2 days of having contractions and 2 nights of absolutely no sleep I was so in love with my brand new baby that I couldn't sleep all night. I remember that I kept turning the light on to look at her in her little bassinet next to my bed. Finally I just took her out and laid her next to me. I watched her all night long. It's amazing how much I loved her. I didn't even know her yet.
BEST MOM ADVICE.....
I am certainly not an expert on this whole mother thing. The one thing I do know is DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF! Who cares if the house is dirty or if you have to change kids clothes 25 times a day, cherish every moment you have with your children. They grow up way too fast.
THINGS I LEARNED FROM MY MOM....
Everything I know. She invented Don't sweat the small stuff. I remember getting into her favorite lipstick and painting it all over my entire body from head to toe and when she saw me she just started laughing and ran to grab the camera. She has been such a help to me since I've had my kids. In fact, the other night Dusky and I were really tired and Dusky said "man, I wish your mom was here. She helps us out a lot. She always lets us sleep!"
As I was sitting in church the other day I thought about my mom and what a wonderful example she is to me. She took 4 kids to church every single week by herself. It would have been so easy to not go because she didn't have help but she wanted to teach us the gospel. I love you mom. You're a good girl!
WHY I LOVE BEING A MOM....
I have two little girls who love me unconditionally. They think I'm great and they forgive me so easily when I do something they don't like.
I never get bored.
I don't look so stupid when I spill on myself. People think it's because of my kids.
I love little girls clothes. They are so fun to dress up.
I love that I have the ability to comfort someone by just picking them up and hugging them.
I love my kids
THINGS I NEVER DID UNTIL I BECAME A MOM...
Get poop on my hand.
Function on NO sleep
Feel guilty for doing the dishes or sitting at the computer instead of playing with my kids.
Get excited to go on a "date" with my husband to the grocery store.
Miss someone so bad it hurts when they are sleeping right down the hall.
Feel like I'm having a really good day when I get to shower AND do my hair and make-up.
Say "Honey, Please dont throw poopy diapers in the tub, that's Yucky!!!"
Fold every batch of laundry 12 times because somebody keeps coming through and undoing what I've done.
And much, much more.
I love being a mom and I'm so grateful that Heavenly Father has blessed me with my wonderful children. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ME!!!!!

Sick Babies

I forgot to write about my poor little Kaia. She was starting to not feel good a few weeks ago. She had a fever and I thought it was just because she was teething. She is getting two molars in right now. But her fever kept getting worse and worse. On top of that I got the dreaded mastitis AGAIN! Which means I was on antibiotics and Sienna was really gassy and not feeling good because of that.
Kaia was sleeping with us because she didn't feel good. I got up at about 5:00 Sunday morning to feed Sienna and Kaia was sleeping still but she was moaning in her sleep. I took her temperature and it was 105.6. I woke Dusky up and he gave her a blessing and then took her into the emergency room. I drove in when I was done feeding Sienna and as soon as I walked into the hospital I could hear Kaia screaming. The lady said "Can I help you?" And I said "ummm, that's my daughter screaming, I think I can find her"
It turns out she had a really bad ear infection and a sore throat. They gave her a shot of penicillin in the butt and sent us home with some antibiotics. She started feeling better really quickly. I could tell because all of a sudden she was hitting, kissing, smothering her sister. Even though my house was clean for a few days, I'd much rather have Kaia destroying it because that means she's not as sick as she was. It was really sad.

New Pictures

Last weekend we went to California for the graduation seminar. We went to an Angel's game (which was one of the best baseball games I've been to). Kaia, Sienna and I hung out while Dace and Dusky went to the seminar. The weather was so nice. We went to an outdoor shopping center, walked around, and smelled the flowers. It was really fun!
On Sunday we drove to Utah for Grandma Great's funeral. She looked so beautiful in her little pink casket. The funeral was really good.
Traveling is 5,000 times harder with 2 babies than it is with 1. Sienna was a little angel and she slept the whole time, but we couldn't trade off with Kaia as much and we all know that she doesn't like to sit still. EVER!
I came home to a very dirty house (including red pasta sauce in my carpet that I didn't have time to clean up before I left- I bet you can't bet who did that) but I got my pictures back from the photographer. They are so cute. Here are a few for all of you to enjoy. I saved the cute ones for Sienna's birth announcement which will be sent out soon.

Grandma Great

OH WHAT A HAPPY DAY..........

For Grandma Great! This morning at 5:30 my wonderful grandma passed away at the age of 94. My heart feels so
homesick for her, but I also feel SOOOOO
happy for her. Today she reunited with her wonderful husband, her mother, her father, her baby, and our Heavenly Father. She's finally home after living a long wonderful life. She was such an amazing lady. I will miss our Wednesday lunches like crazy. I'm so grateful that both of my daughters got a chance to meet their great great grandma !
