Christmas was a success....

Christmas was wonderful this year. It was sooo fun because both of the girls are old enough to be excited. Kaia talked NON-STOP about Santa Claus for about 2 weeks. She would ask me when he was coming every day.

We let them stay up late on Christmas Eve. We read our scriptures and then we watched "The Polar Express" and drank Hot Chocolate. (or "Hot Choc" as Senny calls it.)

Christmas morning Sienna woke up at 6:00 (she's my child), so I went and got her out of her bed and brought her into ours. Then I started thinking that I didn't want Kaia to wake up on her own and come running into our room because she would have to go through the living room where all the presents were. I kept waking Dusky up and saying "what should I do about Kaia?" Finally he said "Just go get her!" He's a good sport. I always wake him up really early in the morning, even before we had kids. And I wake up before the kids every single Christmas.

So I went and got Kaia, and she was not ready to get up yet, so I brought her into our bed and we slept for a little while longer. Finally I couldn't take it anymore...I said "Can we please go see what Santa Claus brought us?" and that got Kaia up real quick.

They ran out in the living room and they were soooo excited. They both got bikes and a little kitchen set, with dishes, pans, utinsils, food, etc.

Sienna hasn't gotten off her bike for the last week. She just kept saying "BIKE!, BIKE! BIKE!" The bad thing is, it's too big for her and her feet can't reach the peddles, but she doesn't care. She scoots herself around all day.

Kaia opened every single present under the tree. We couldn't get Sienna off of the bike to get her excited about anything else. They got books, puzzles, a road rug with cars to drive on it, and all sorts of fun stuff. (most of which were from grandma and grandpa, aunt, uncles, and cousins) Thanks everyone!

I asked Kaia what she wanted to get her dad for Christmas and she said "A king's crown!" I tried to talk to her into buying him something that he would really like, but the ONLY thing she wanted to give him was a King's Crown. So I got the paper out and she told me exactly how to cut it out. Then I gave her some stickers and she peeled them off and lined them up perfectly across his beautiful crown. It was the funniest thing. He loved it. And he looked just like a

King. =)

For the entire day, everywhere we went, Sienna scooted along on her bike. Kaia went out in the middle of the field to pick flowers and Sienna scooted her bike all the way out there across the grass. It took her like 20 minutes to get there. What a little cutie pie!

Kaia is in love with her kitchen set. She hasn't stopped cooking me dinner since Christmas day.

Later in the afternoon we went to Bobby and Tricia Greens. We ate dinner and just hung out. It was really fun. I love my Louisiana Family.

We went and did a 3D/4D Ultrasound today. It was fun. She was cooperating very well. She's got cute chubby little cheeks and lots of hair. They said she weighs about 2lbs. 12 oz. which is right on schedule. Kaia kept saying "That's my baby!" "Take another picture of my baby!"

December in the Goulding Household

I have been horrible at updating my blog lately, but we've just been going, going, going....

The girls are changing sooo much. Especially Sienna. She is talking more and more everyday. She finally puts sentences together. She says "Thank mommy!" after everything I do. She is so in love with her dad right now. She always wants him. When he's gone she walks around the house saying "Where daddy go?"

I had my glucose test at the doctor's office a few weeks ago (the one where you have to drink the nasty stuff and sit there for an hour and then they take your blood). My blood sugar level came back high. It was 152 and they said if it is over 140 then they have to send me to the hospital to do the "real" test.

So I had to go to the hospital (and I couldn't eat anything the night before-which doesn't usually work out good for me even when I'm not pregnant). They put an IV in me and tested my fasting blood sugar level. Then I had to drink this NASTY stuff and they checked my blood sugar level every hour for 3 hours. It was HORRIBLE. I was soooo sick. I kept blacking out and dry heaving into the toilet. and I just had to sit there for THREE hours.

The doctor called me later that day and told me that I have gestational diabetes. So I had to go back into her office the next morning and she gave me prescriptions for all the equipment to test my blood sugar level ($150 later). I have to prick my finger and test my blood every morning when I wake up and 2 hours after every meal. In the morning she wants my level to be under 90 and under 130 after every meal.

So far I haven't changed my diet AT ALL and every morning my blood sugar level has been in the 70's and in the 90's after every meal. I've been doing it for like 2.5 weeks. So I think it's a bunch of crap. I must have just been having a bad day when they tested me or something. But we'll see what the doctor says when I go back in.

Anyway, The girls and I went to Georgia for a few days with my mom. My mom bought them a little table and chairs and some dishes and they played with them the entire time. I had to sit at this little tiny table and kaia poured me water for about 4 days straight. They were having a blast. I left the girls up there and flew home on Wednesday for Jenny's baby shower. It was really fun. Dusky had to leave Thursday to drive a student up to atlanta, so I flew up friday morning and we all spent the weekend up there. Friday night my dad took us all to the Atlanta Hawks vs. Jazz game. It was fun. We had AWESOME seats. The girls loved the game and all the Birdies (Hawks mascots).

Sunday we drove home and now I'm trying to get my house cleaned and everything ready for Christmas. How is it Christmas already? This is crazy.

We had family pictures taken at Thanksgiving. It was long over due.

Sienna was NOT cooperating. It was really funny, she was screaming her head off and kicking her legs, and Kaia was saying "Here, take a picture of me" and totally posing for the camera.

My mom had Lana draw this picture of Jesus with Kaia on his lap. She gave it to me for Christmas. I love it soooo much. She did a great job. I've been wanting to have one of these done for a long time. She's also doing one of Sienna but it's not done yet.

Christmas Festival in Natchitoches

We were planning on taking the motorhome to Natchitoches and staying over friday night but our plans were changed when it started snowing like crazy in Louisiana. They shut down all of the roads so instead we picked up the Mangums in the 15 passenger van on Saturday and headed up to the Christmas Festival in Natchitoches to carry on our annual tradition. Luckily Dusky drove this time so we didn't get stuck in the mud in the middle of a park. And we made it in time for the fireworks. Which were awesome....

Sienna was hilarious. The firework show lasted a good half an hour and I don't think she blinked the entire time. She was amazed.

Here's a full on shot of a happy Aaron stuffing his face. They have the BEST meat pies and funnel cakes. Plus, I had my first experience eating Alligator. I wouldn't have done it if I'd have known what it was, but Dusky told me it was chicken. And it was pretty good, I have to admit.

Update...

It's been a long time since I had time to post, so we'll start back a few weeks. Dusky took the boys from the school camping. I took the girls out in the morning to play and have breakfast and they loved it.

We left a few days after that and went to Georgia. Tana and Tricia came out and we had a girls weekend. Always a good time. We ate lots of food, watched movies, did crafts, and made a killer video which will be released SOON.Sienna's favorite thing to do in the world is to ride these little motorized four-wheelers.
Then fall asleep sitting up...

We flew back home and went straight to Kincaid Lake to go camping. It was a blast. Gary Green cooked the best Gumbo for dinner and we sat around the camp fire all night long and laughed our heads off. We almost got kicked out. The security guy came 4 different times to tell us to shut up. Then we went to bed in this....

My dad's lovely motorhome. It was awesome. We got the full camping experience, and slept comfortably with a heater.

The next morning the guys cooked us breakfast and the kids played and ran wild.

The next week was a CRAZY week. We were getting ready for our Utah trip, I had a birthday cake, a baby shower cake, a wedding cake and a grooms cake to make. Plus, I did 4 hair color and cuts. On my birthday we got a baby sitter and Dusky took me out. The plan was to go to dinner and then he was going to take me shopping. By the time we got done with dinner I felt like I had been hit by a diesel truck. I told Dusky that I was so stinkin' tired, I just wanted to go home and go to bed. It was so sad. I really am getting old. We were in bed by 9:00 and it felt so good.

The next day I set up the wedding cakes and then we headed out. We took my dad's motorhome to Utah. If you are a pregnant lady that has to travel across the country, that is the way to do it. I didn't have to stop for a bathroom break once.

The girls had a blast. We watched movies, ate when we were hungry, gave them naps and put them to bed when it was time.

My camera battery died while I was in Utah so I don't have very many pictures.

We got there Monday morning and stayed for a week. It was really fun. Kurt & LaRene and their kids came in from Virginia. Wednesday morning they were sealed in the St. George Temple. That was awesome.

We spent Thanksgiving with Dusky's family. The food was so good. Everybody was there. Dusky played football that morning, went hiking, and played volleyball that night. He could barely walk the next day.

Friday night we had our annual Christmas Party at Tricia's house. Santa Claus came and it was hilarious. Kaia was totally in love with him. She wouldn't leave his side the whole time he was there.

Then Kaia serenaded us. She sang Carebears countdown.

Saturday Lana and I drove to Salt Lake to go to John Jones' funeral. We met Andrea, Kristi, and Stacie there. It was honestly the best funeral I've ever been to.

We went to lunch after and it was so good to see the girls. I love them.

My kids had a blast in Utah. They played outside with their cousins all day long. Kaia would wake up in the morning and say "Where are my cousins?"

Now we are back in good ol' Louisiana. I finally got all of my Christmas decorations today. and on top of that...IT SNOWED!

Party Central...

Last weekend was a big PARTY! Thursday night we had Kaia's Birthday party, Friday Night we had our Ward Halloween Carnival, and Saturday we had a Halloween Party and went Trick-or-Treating. Since it started off with Kaia's Party, she thought the whole weekend was for her. She kept asking people if they wanted to go to HER halloween party.

The Ward Halloween Carnival was a blast. We ate, they had tons of games for the kids and they did trick-or -treating. The only game that my kids were interested in was the fishing game. They stayed there for like 45 minutes straight and fished for prizes.

They also had a bounce house. Sienna was totally out of control. She kind of scared me. She was in there with all of these BIG kids and she was getting bounced around like crazy. She thought it was soooo fun. She was running around like a crazy lady (i'm sure it had something to do with the fact that she was all hopped up on SUGAR). By the time we got home her tutu was in shreds. It was totally destroyed.

Saturday we went to the Baldwin's for Lawrence's Annual Halloween Party. We went trick-or-treating around their neighborhood, roasted hot dogs, and marshmallows, and ate lots of candy.

Monday we took the girls to the zoo. Sienna was running full speed ahead and she face planted it HARD. Her lip is really swollen.

What happened to my good sleeper? Sienna was the Champion...she wanted to be in her own bed and she would sleep there all night long. But not any longer. For the last 5 days she goes totally histerical when I put her in her bed. She acts like she's scared to death. And she wakes up in the middle of the night and screams bloody murder until I go get her. What do I do??? Her and Kaia have both been sleeping in the spare bedroom on "Grandma's Bed"

Kaia is THREE!!!!

Holy Crap my daughter is THREE! How did that happen? The night before her birthday I was in total shock. I kept saying to Dusky "Three years ago at this time, I was in labor..." It had just been me and Dusky and now we have one daughter sleeping in the middle of us, one that will probably be running in here in the next few minutes and climbing in bed with us, and one that is kicking me in the stomach. I don't even remember what life was like without them.

Kaia had the best day ever! She was excited ALL day long. She didn't have to have a nap (because it was her birthday-but mostly because she was too excited to sleep and she laid in her bed singing and talking to herself for about 30 minutes before I finally told her she could come out of her room)

We spend the morning hunting a dead mouse that I knew was in the dryer. DISGUSTING! I could smell it, it stunk so bad. So Dusky took the dryer outside and took it apart and found a nasty dead mouse. I love you Dusky. Since then we have found 3 other dead mouse. I'm about to FREAK OUT!

Anyway, we had a birthday party for Kaia last night. The LaCaze's, the Baldwins, and Tricia Green came. I had the cutest princess cake that I was going to make for her, and then she INSISTED on a "Dora" Cake. That took all of my motivation away, so I made the stupidest little Plain Jane Dora cake and she totally loved it. She came in and said "Oh Thank You MOM! For making such a BEAUTIFUL Dora cake for me!"

Her favorite present of the night was the purse that Tricia gave her. It came complete with FAKE make-up (which I love), Car keys, Credit Cards, and Cell Phone. They have been playing with/ Fighting over it since last night.

Kaia woke up this morning and said "Mom, I'm THREE. I'm a big girl now!"

In other news, I'm sure you are all aware of the fact that I cannot get my daughter Sienna to keep her clothes on. So i decided to buy a little potty to see if she would use it. I opened it and sat it on the floor. A minute later she came in and got me. She had already peed in the potty. Unfortunatly she didn't know to take her panties off first. So she peed straight through her panties and into the potty. But Hey, that's a start right.I put Kaia's panties on her and I had to take a picture. Kaia is the one on the right (if you couldn't tell). They are the same size and they hang on Kaia, but fit very SNUG on Sienna. Cute little bums!

We made cookies the other day because we were bored and I had to keep reminding myself that this was a project for the girls. I didn't take many pictures but it took me FOREVER to clean up. They had flour EVERYWHERE. Caked to their legs, their face, the table, all of the chairs, and all over the floor. They had fun though.
