BRING IT ON GUSTAV.....

Well, we've got our generators, water, food 72 hour kits, etc.....and now we just wait. It's kind of crazy. The highway in front of my house is so jam packed with evacuees that you can't even cross it. New Orleans to Baton Rouge is usually an hour drive and it was taking people 10-12 hours to get that far. We've got shelters set up here in Alexandria and we turned our church into a shelter as well. The college up the road has it's parking lot filled with about 70 ambulances and emergency vehicles. I've never really seen anything like this before. So we're having a Hurricane Party! Wish y'all could be here to join us. haha

Who wants grapes?....

Today I was standing in the kitchen, Kaia came running in and yelled "Mom, who wants grapes?"...Then she raised her hand and said "I do!" I guess that was her way of asking for grapes. It was funny. She's cute

OLYMPIC SPIRIT

FYI....I freakin' love the Olympics. I want to go so bad. Swimming is my favorite. Dusky and I have stayed up all night long for the last week and a half watching. I'm so tired but it's worth it. Michael Phelps rocks the Hizzie!!! I would seriously get nervous before his races. Especially the last fly race and the relay. They were both Awesome

TRIATHALON..WHOO WHOO!

Triathalon time came on Saturday....

Why is there no pictures of Dusky you ask.....Well, I'll tell you.....

My lovely husband signed us up to do a triathalon. I had a total of 1 week to train for it. So in that one week I swam once (the only time I've swam in the last 2 1/2 years) and I biked once (again, the only time in the last 2 1/2 years)

Dusky swam once and biked once. In fact, he bought his bike right before we left to go down to Lafayette where the race was.

So, I got in the pool, swam my little heart out (good thing it was only 200 yards), ran over to my bike and started pedaling like a champion. Half way through the 10 mile bike ride it started pouring. It was kind of fun riding in the rain, but I could hardly open my eyes it was coming down so hard.

I get to the end of my biking course and the people at the end tell me "THEY CANCELLED THE RACE! Just go back"

I was so mad. I did almost the entire triathalon for NOTHING!!!! Then I find out. They cancelled the race at Dusky. They stopped everybody when it was Dusky's turn to get in the pool. He didn't have to do any of it.

Ha ha. It's kind of funny! I actually had fun. I hope they reschedule it. Maybe i'll be more prepared next time.

In other Goulding news....

Ever since lake powell, Kaia is totally obsessed with swimming. We have to take her every single day. The other night I came home and Dusky had both of the girls in the bath tub. (it looks like Dusky is naked but don't worry, they all have their swimming suits on)

Kaia found her swimming suit and she wouldn't leave him alone. She followed him around saying "I wanna go simmin' dad" She's a persistant little child so finally he just put them in the bath tub. They had a blast and we've done it like every night since then.

PRAYERS

This afternoon I went to put Kaia down for her nap. I walked in her room and handed her a sippy cup with milk and started to walk out. She yelled "No! I wanna have prayers!" I turned around and she was sitting on her bed folding her arms. So I walked over and we had prayers, then she layed down and went to sleep.

She's so cute!

Goulding Vacations...

Warning: LONG post

This is a post of our lovely July vacations. It started out with me and the girls going to Georgia to stay with Mom and Naomi. We were joined by Tricia and Branson and we partied all weekend long. We went to Stone Mountain, Shopping, Chuck-E-Cheese, etc.

We even ate next to Evander Holyfield at a resteraunt. Yes, that's right.

While we were enjoying ourselves in Georgia the boys went to Alaska....

They did alot of fishing, modeling,

goofing off,hiking, and sleeping
Then me and the girls met Dusky in Utah. He went and ran a 5 mile race in ivins the next morning (and took first place) and then we got in the car and headed to Flagstaff, Arizona for the Annual Goulding Reunion.

We got there Thursday evening and went swimming, ate KFC and hung out. Kaia is a little champion when it comes to swimming. She was jumping off the side to us. She ran over and jumped off before I could get to her and she went under water. I pulled her up and started to get out of the pool thinking that going under water would have scared her and she would probably want to be done, but she bawled her little eyes out because she wanted to keep swimming.The next morning we went to a place called Slide Rock. It was really cool. And beautiful.

Kaia is a little rock star. She gets such a serious look on her face when she puts her glasses on. She says "I'm cool!"

This is what Sienna did most of the time. Slept NAKED! It was hot so I took all her clothes off.After Slide Rock we went to Sedona. Which is an awesome little city. We went to the park, saw the church in the rock and then walked down the cutest little main street that is filled with shops and resteraunts.
The girls in their limo stroller The next day we went up to Snow Bowl. It's a ski resort. We rode the ski lift to the top. It was a half an hour up and a half an hour back.

We started out good. It was beautiful, Kaia was having a blast being so high in the air. Then about half way up it started pouring. And I mean POURING! We didn't have any cover. I had a little blanket for Sienna that I covered her with, but it rained so hard that we were all soaked. Kaia and Sienna were BAWLING! no SCREAMING! Everybody that was passing us on their way down would laugh as they went by. You could hear our two girls all the way up the mountain and there was nothing we could do about it. I don't think I've ever seen Kaia so hysterical. It was kind of funny, but I felt bad for them. It was really cold. We got to the top and the workers let us go into their little room and calm our girls down.
Finally it stopped raining so we got in line to go back down.
The ride down was beautiful, but it started pouring again half way down. Luckily both of the girls slept the entire way down. They had wore themselves out by screaming so much. We wrapped Kaia in my sweatshirt and put the hood over her head and we put the blanket over Sienna. So they stayed somewhat dry.

We went back to the hotel and spent the rest of the day swimming. (Which Kaia loved, of course)
THat night we went to a church and played dodge ball, ate dinner and had a talent show. It was awesome. I loved everybody's talents...especially Carter's break dancing. Well, Rennie and Luke's cheerleading was pretty impressive too.

For our talent I was going to do the Napoleon Dynamite dance. I practice and practiced and then I left the stinkin' music at my mom's house. So we made smoothie's instead.

Next year...

The next morning we left Flagstaff and drove to Lake Powell where we met my family.

This is how excited we were to go to Lake Powell....
Jon and Justin flew in from good ol' Louisiana to join us. This was their first Lake Powell experience and I think they thoroughly enjoyed it.

We had to watch Kaia like a hawk. She's crazy. She kept trying to climb over the side to get to the Watooo (water) because she wanted to Sim(Swim)


We swam the whole time. Sienna and Kaia both loved it. Kaia wanted to keep going under water. So we would dunk her and then she would come up and clap for herself. She even jumped off the side of the house boat. (That's pretty high for a little girl)

We dunked Sienna a few times too. She would come up, catch her breath and then give us a big smile.

Generally, posting naked videos of your daughter on the internet is not something you want to do. But she's so dang cute showing off.

Little Senny...

She's so sweet. I love to hold her. She cuddles up to me and stares at me with her big ol' eyes. I Layed down by Kaia today while she was sleeping and I felt so sad. She's getting so big and I can't remember what it was like to hold her as a baby. Pretty soon Sienna is going to be big and she won't want me to hold her anymore.

...Your favorite shirt has a picture of a trailor on it and it says "Dreams do come true"

And last but not least,

...You build on.........to your trailor!

Yes that's right. We added two rooms on to our double wide. We're still trailor trash, but we're now triple wide trailor trash. You don't get more red neck than that!
