October 2012

Our house is filled with all sorts of redneck ways of entertainment.
Presenting...The redneck teeter totter to go along with the redneck drive in theatre
Eja loves chocolate.  She got a little out of control with grandpa's chocolate covered raisins when no one was looking...
October was Dusky's vacation month.  We spent a lot of time in Utah.
The girls LOVED doing dishes for Grandma Holt.  They wanted to do them everyday.
Sienna helping grandpa mow the lawn.  She's a little tired.
It was my first trip back to Utah since Tanner died.  Dusky took me over to see his headstone.  Kaia wanted to go with us, so we took her and left the rest of the kids with Dusky's parents.
It was a hard day.  I HATE that my brother has a headstone.  It's a beautiful headstone though.  As soon as we got there Kaia walked straight up to the headstone and put her hand on Tanner's picture.  She just stood there and stared at his picture.  It was so sad.  It made me cry.
The headstone was dirty and Kaia decided she wanted to clean it.  She went and got the wipes out of the car and wiped down the ENTIRE headstone.
She is the sweetest little girl ever.  I love her so much.
 Kaia loving her little brother
The most important part of the trip happened on October 19th.  We were sealed in the temple that morning.  It was awesome.  I'm so proud of my dad and everything he has overcome in the last few months.  My mom too.  Dusky stood proxy for Tanner and it was such a bittersweet experience.  I've waited a long time for that day, and it finally happened.  My family is stuck with me for eternity :)

We spent a lot of time at the cabin this trip.  Kim, Kelly, Danielle and her family, Courtney and her boyfriend, and Sara and her family came up.
We got pics of Tanner and Kimber together.  So cute.
Dusky got two deer for Tanner this year.

We blessed Tanner this trip.  We wanted to do it in Utah so all the family could be there.  It was AWESOME to have my dad be there to stand in the circle.  Dusky, his dad, my dad, Zach, Dace, Uncle Danny, and Uncle Kelly were all there to stand in the circle.

As soon as we got back Kaia started saying she was sick everyday when it was time to go to school.  Kaia has always had quite the gag reflex...haha
She was seriously making herself throw up by gagging.  I guess we kept her out of school for too long and she didn't want to go back.  The first day I thought she really was sick so I let her stay home from school.  About 10 minutes later she was feeling fine.  So when she all of a sudden got sick the next morning when it was time for school, i got smart and figured out that she wasn't really sick...she just didn't want to go to school.  Funny how they figure things out at a young age.

She sat in the back of the car and gagged for about 2 weeks on the way to school, then she got over it.

We got home from Utah just in time for Kaia's birthday party.

I can't believe she's 6.  Holy cow!  6 has been the magic age for such a long time.
A few years ago she told my mom that she really wanted a movie and asked if she would buy it for her.  My mom told her that maybe she could do some chores and buy the movie herself.  She then told my mom that she was too young to do chores, but maybe my mom could buy the movie for her now, and when she was 6 she could do the chores.

Well, she's officially 6.  Im sure glad she's old enough to do chores.

She got a McKenna doll that looks like her and they even have matching outfits.
For Halloween we went to the ward trunk-or-treat and then we went trick or treating in our neighborhood on a trailor hooked up to the four wheeler.

Eja was a Hippie, Kaia was a witch, and Sienna was a cat/bat or something like that. haha

A cute little family of pirates
